Delhi Weather Alert: Delhi Cooling Down? Weather Forecast From Today Till 7th June

According to the India Meteorological Department's Regional Centre in Delhi, while some heatwave conditions are predicted to occur in isolated regions across the union territory, the overall temperature has dropped significantly as of today, 1 June.

Readers need not worry about some parts of Delhi going over 46°C anymore, at least not for a while according to the forecast.

Delhi Temperature And Other Weather Over The Next Week:

Today, 1 June, areas in the northern parts of Delhi like Mungeshpur, Najafgarh, Narela, Pitampure and Pusa will continue to experience relatively high temperatures, going up to 45°C to 46°C. The rest of Delhi will be experiencing temperatures that wouldn't go above 43°C to 44°C. For the rest of the week, temperatures will be hovering around the same maximums as today.

Minimum temperatures for most of Delhi will remain at 30°C or above for the coming week, with some exceptions like Ridge and Narela which may experience temperatures going all the way down to 28°C.

As for general weather, for today's forecast, it is expected to be generally cloudy, which means people will easily be able to find shade from the sun. A yellow alert has been put out, expectations of dust storms and thunderstorms hitting the union territory alongside some light rain and gusty winds.

For tomorrow, 2 June's forecast, another yellow alert has been given out, forecasting cloudy skies with a chance for thunderstorms and some light rains. 3 June onwards, there are only green alerts predicting partly cloudy to mainly clear skies alongside winds that reach anywhere between 20 km/h to 35 km/h.

IMD's Advice For The Yellow Alerts Today And Tomorrow:

IMD, suspecting that the new weather conditions of late may cause things like traffic disruptions, electricity outage, and damage to vulnerable structures, has given out the following advice:

  1. Check for traffic congestion on your route before leaving for your destination.
  2. Follow any traffic advisories that are issued in this regard.
  3. Stay away from power lines or electrical wires.
  4. Stay indoors, close windows & doors and avoid travel if possible.
  5. Take safe shelters; do not take shelter under trees.
  6. Do not lie on concrete floors and do not lean against concrete walls.
  7. Unplug electrical/ electronic appliances.
