Delhi: Vijay Jolly to appear before Delhi Police, NCW

Vijay Jolly to appear before NCW
New Delhi, Dec 2: South Delhi BJP leader Vijay Jolly will be appearing before the National Commission for Women and also the Delhi police on Monday for his act of defacement and vandalism at the residence of former Tehelka managing editor Shoma Chaudhury.

This will be the third time that Jolly will be appearing before the Delhi police in connection to the incident. On Thursday, Nov 29, Jolly along with some party workers, protested outside Chaudhury's residence and smeared black paint in front of her house and wrote the word 'accused' on her name plate.

Jolly to appear before Delhi police for the third time

They even tried to stop her when she tried to leave her residence. The incident not only angered party members but also many social activists who condemned the incident.

Jolly had then justified his actions saying that what Chaudhury had done was wrong. 'Instead of helping a female co-worker she was trying to suppress the facts in the case' he had alleged.

The BJP had then immediately distanced itself from the incident and Jolly and said that this was not the way the party functioned.

Jolly was questioned by the Delhi police on Saturday for over four hours.
