Delhi Traffic Jam Alert Today: Farmers Convene 'Kisan Mahapanchayat' At Ramlila Maidan | 10 Key Points
A 'Kisan Mazdoor Mahapanchayat' is to be held at the Ramlila Maidan in Delhi by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha, an umbrella body of farmers' groups, where a resolution to "intensify the fight" against the policies of the central government is likely to be passed.
It has been permitted by the Delhi Police under the condition that the gathering will not exceed 5,000 participants and tractor trolleys will not be allowed near the venue, as informed by officials to news agency PTI.

'Kisan Mahapanchayat' At Ramlila Maidan
While it is reportedly stated by the SKM, which had led the 2020-21 farmers' protest at Delhi borders against the three central agri laws, that more than 50,000 farmers from Punjab are expected to attend the event, the umbrella body of farmers' organisations has emphasized that it will be a peaceful gathering at the Ramlila Ground.
The movement towards Delhi on Wednesday saw scores of farmers from across Punjab in over 800 buses and trucks and several trains. As per police, traffic in various parts of the national capital may be affected due to the farmers gathering at the Ramlila Maidan on Thursday.
The Gautam Buddh Nagar Police on Wednesday issued a caution to commuters about the possibility of traffic movement slowing down on the Noida-Delhi routes given the proposed farmers' protest in Delhi. A heavy deployment of paramilitary personnel has been observed at three Delhi borders - Singhu, Tikri, and Ghazipur - to halt the ongoing protest of the farmers demanding to march to Delhi. Hundreds of farmers have still stationed at the Punjab-Haryana borders for the past month.
