Delhi serial rapist slapped by lawyers inside Rohini court
New Delhi, July 23: The accused serial rapist, who confessed to have sexually assaulted and killed at least 30 children, was on Thursday, July 23, slapped by lawyers inside the Rohini court.
On Tuesday, July 21, Delhi Police had formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the case of Ravinder Kumar, the serial rapist, to look for more evidence of the horrific crime in the neighbouring states of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

Kumar, a native of Badaun district in Uttar Pradesh, told investigators he targeted young girls in Delhi, the National Capital Region (NCR) and Uttar Pradesh. [Nithari rerun: Man sexually assaulted, killed at least 15 children]
24-year-old Kumar confessed to snuffing out the lives of the children, all under 14 years, in and around Delhi since 2008.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Vikramjit Singh said that the investigations till now suggest that the toll might reach 40.

Singh further revealed, "He would lure children with candies and kill them if they resisted. Worse, he would have sex with their bodies, making him suffer from necrophilia."
"He would go around colonies looking for children playing outside their house or near toilets and lure them with money and sweets. If they refused, he would simply gag and pick them up. In exceptional cases, if the victim agreed not to reveal the matter to anyone, Kumar would let him or her go", he further said.

He was arrested in connection with the rape and murder of a six-year-old girl in outer Delhi's Begumpur area.
The girl was reportedly missing from July 14 morning and an FIR was subsequently registered at Begumpur police station.
