Delhi Schools to Get AI, Robotics, and Smart Boards in Major Tech Upgrade
Delhi's minister, Ashish Sood, announced plans to introduce an advanced education system in the city's schools. This initiative will incorporate artificial intelligence, smart boards, and robotics. During a visit to a state-run school in Surat, Gujarat, Sood expressed optimism that these changes would improve the quality of education and increase students' exposure to modern technology.

The minister's visit included observing classrooms where smart boards were used for teaching. He engaged with students to gauge the effectiveness and educational benefits of this technology. The government stated that Sood also toured the school's AI and Robotics Lab. Here, he witnessed students working on practical projects involving drones, 3D printers, and advanced sensor security systems.
Smart Classrooms: A Comparative Insight
Sood highlighted that despite being the national capital with abundant resources, Delhi's government schools have only a few hundred smart boards. In contrast, Gujarat has established over 1.1 lakh smart classrooms despite facing natural challenges like annual floods in several districts. This comparison underscores the need for Delhi to enhance its technological infrastructure in education.
The purpose of Sood's visit was to observe how the National Education Policy 2020 is being implemented and to learn from the best educational practices across different states. He praised Gujarat's reforms in state-run schools as commendable and suggested that other states should draw inspiration from them.
Learning from Gujarat's Educational Reforms
Gujarat's success in integrating technology into education serves as a model for other states. The state's ability to overcome natural adversities while advancing educational technology is noteworthy. Sood believes that adopting similar strategies could significantly benefit Delhi's educational landscape.
The focus on modernising education through technology aims to prepare students for future challenges by equipping them with essential skills. By learning from successful models like Gujarat, Delhi hopes to implement effective changes that will benefit its students and educators alike.
