Delhi School Bomb Threat: Now, Over 50 Educational Institutions Receive Threats

After 32 schools received bomb threats on Monday, over 50 educational institutions have received similar threats via email on Wednesday, as per ANI.

"Bomb threats were reported at two schools at 7:40 AM and 7:42 AM. Police and other agencies have reached the schools and are conducting searches. Threat emails were sent to SKV Malviya Nagar and Andhra School, Prasad Nagar, with the possibility that more schools may have been targeted," the IANS quoted Delhi Fire Services as saying.

Police teams, along with fire personnel and bomb disposal squads, rushed to the premises immediately, as per PTI.This follows a major scare on Monday when at least 32 schools received threatening emails, sparking widespread panic and forcing emergency evacuations. The Delhi Fire Services fielded calls throughout the morning as institutions, particularly in the Dwarka area, sent children home for the day.

In response, police launched a massive security operation, deploying bomb disposal and canine squads to every affected campus. After extensive searches yielded no suspicious items, officials declared the threats a hoax. A cyber forensics team is now actively trying to trace the IP addresses used to send the malicious emails.

Officials noted that Monday's event, while unprecedented in scale, is part of a disturbing pattern. Since January, the Delhi-NCR region has recorded at least 74 similar threats against 70 schools and four colleges, with a notable surge in July. Police are pursuing every lead, emphasizing that even prank threats will be met with serious investigation due to the significant distress they cause.
