The registration process will begin on November 28, 2024, with several important dates and guidelines for parents and schools.

The DoE circular also mentions that schools may grant a 30-day age relaxation beyond the stipulated age limits for each class. This relaxation is subject to the approval of the school's head.
Reserved Seats for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and Disadvantaged Groups:
- Private schools are instructed to reserve 25% of their seats for students from the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Disadvantaged Groups, and children with disabilities.
- Separate admission lists will be published for these categories, and the seats will be allotted based on specific criteria for the reserved categories.
Admission Criteria:
- Schools are required to display their admission criteria and point systems on their websites by November 25, 2024.
- The criteria must be clear, transparent, reasonable, and in accordance with the DoE guidelines.
- Any criteria that have been abolished by the department should not be adopted by the schools.
In Case of a Tie:
If multiple applicants share the same score or eligibility, a draw of lots will be conducted to decide who gets the admission. This process can be done through:
- A computerized system, or
- Drawing slips in the presence of parents.
- The draw will be videographed, and the footage will be retained by the school for future reference and transparency.
Registration Fees:
Schools are permitted to charge only a registration fee of ₹25 along with the submission of admission forms.
It is important to note that purchasing a prospectus is not mandatory for the registration process, making it more cost-effective for parents.
Important Notes:
- Query Window: Parents can contact school heads between January 18 to January 27, 2025, for any admission-related queries.
- The process is designed to ensure fairness, transparency, and accessibility, especially for children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
This new circular reflects the Delhi government's ongoing efforts to provide quality education and equal opportunities for students, especially those from economically weaker sections, as the city's private schools prepare for the 2025-26 academic session.
