Delhi Police arrested the suspected killer of a senior Indian Revenue Service official’s daughter on 22 April 2026, hours after the 21-year-old was found dead at the family home in the Kailash Hills locality of southeast Delhi.

The woman was discovered unresponsive at the residence in the Kailash Hills area of Amar Colony, New Delhi. The mortal remains later returned from the hospital to the house on 22 April, as relatives and officials gathered at the property.

Investigators said the victim, who was preparing for the UPSC examination, had likely been strangled with a phone charging cable. A report by ANI stated that the charging wire was believed to have been used in the killing at the upscale Kailash Hills address.

Police said attention quickly turned to a former domestic help who had worked at the house. According to officers, this person had been removed from employment around one-and-a-half months earlier, which heightened suspicion about possible motives linked to the dismissal.

Delhi Police said two CCTV clips showed the suspected former employee heading towards the residence at 6:28 am and leaving at 7:22 am on 22 April. Officials stated that these visuals, along with earlier employment records, supported the decision to treat the ex-domestic worker as the main accused.

Officers confirmed that the accused had been “nabbed” on 22 April, following scrutiny of the CCTV footage and background checks. Police stated that the investigation into the murder of the civil servant’s daughter in Kailash Hills continued, with further questioning and forensic analysis expected to clarify the full sequence of events.
