Delhi-NCR Weather Forecast: IMD Predicts More Rainfall Today; But Is This A Monsoon Rain?

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted more showers in Delhi throughout the day. Regional Weather Forecasting Center (RWFC) announced on X, formerly known as Twitter, "Thunderstorm with light to moderate intensity rain with heavy intensity rain over isolated places and wind with speed of 20-40 Km/h would continue to occur over and adjoining areas of many places of Delhi and NCR, Panipat, Gohana, Gannaur, Sonipat." The weather agency also predicted rainfall for Ghaziabad, Noida, and Gurugram.

Delhi and other parts of North India have been enduring a severe heatwave, with the capital recording nine heatwave days in June so far, compared to none in 2023 and 2022. However, the city's weather has undergone a significant change due to the effect of a western disturbance. This meteorological phenomenon has resulted in a drop in the maximum temperature, bringing some respite from the scorching heat.

Delhi-NCR Weather Forecast

The rainfall has provided much-needed relief to the residents, with the minimum temperature ranging between 29 degrees Celsius and 37 degrees Celsius. The weather forecast indicates a generally cloudy sky with light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds. These conditions are expected to persist over the next several days, significantly improving the overall climate of the region.
