Delhi Fire: Fire Tenders Douse Massive Fire At School of Planning Building In ITO Area

Separate fire incidents were reported in Delhi and Mumbai, leading to large emergency responses but no casualties. A blaze broke out at the School of Planning and Architecture near ITO, while another started at Kanwal Mansion, a residential building in Cuffe Parade, Mumbai.

In Delhi, the fire originated on the second floor of the School of Planning and Architecture building located opposite the PWD office near the ITO complex. The Delhi Fire Service received a call at 9:37 am after smoke was seen coming from the structure, and all employees were evacuated.

Delhi fire incident: response and suspected AC blast

At least eight fire tenders were sent to the Delhi site, where crews carried out intense firefighting work before putting out the flames. An air conditioner unit was later found on the ground below, and smoke was first noticed near that area, suggesting a possible AC blast as the initial trigger.

Mumbai Cuffe Parade fire incident at residential building

The Mumbai fire occurred on Sunday afternoon at Kanwal Mansion, a two-storey residential building in Cuffe Parade. The blaze began around 12:36 pm and was mainly confined to the first floor, according to civic officials, who also confirmed that no injuries were reported in the incident.

Fire services in Mumbai deployed four fire engines and additional emergency vehicles, bringing the situation under control within roughly 15 to 20 minutes. The flames were completely extinguished by around 12:55 pm. Officials reported damage to electrical wiring, installations, wooden partitions, furniture, cushions and other household items across an estimated 3,000 square feet, while the exact cause remains under investigation.
