Delhi Female Judge Threatened By Man, His Lawyer After Conviction: 'Tu Hai Kya Cheez, Bahar Mil'
A Delhi judge, Shivangi Mangla, faced shocking abuse and threats in open court after convicting a man in a six-year-old cheque bounce case. The incident occurred on April 2 at the Dwarka court complex.
As Judge Mangla delivered the guilty verdict, the accused lashed out aggressively, saying, "Tu hai kya cheez... tu bahar mil dekhte hai kaise zinda ghar jaati hai (Who do you think you are... meet us outside and we'll see if you make it home alive)."

Both the convict and his legal representative demanded that the judge resign immediately, warning that they would otherwise file a complaint against her and force her to step down.
In her official order, Judge Mangla detailed how she was "mentally and physically harassed" and pressured to either resign or acquit the accused under threat of retaliation.
She has since referred the matter to the District and Sessions Judge, requesting it be escalated to the Delhi High Court for appropriate legal proceedings. She also called upon the National Commission for Women to take action against the accused.
Additionally, Judge Mangla issued a show-cause notice to the defence lawyer, Advocate Atul Kumar, asking him to provide a written explanation for his behaviour and to justify why criminal contempt proceedings should not be initiated against him.
A portion of her judgment read: "Let a court notice be issued to Advocate Atul Kumar to submit a written explanation regarding his conduct today, and to clarify why he should not be referred to the Honourable High Court for criminal contempt proceedings."
Subsequently, on April 5, the accused was sentenced to 22 months in prison and ordered to pay a fine of ₹6.65 lakh in the cheque bounce matter.
