Delhi Elections 2025: From Landslides To Nail-Biters, Check Highest And Lowest Victory Margins
The BJP made a remarkable comeback in Delhi after more than 26 years, defeating the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Assembly elections. This victory further extends the BJP's influence across the country.
According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), the BJP is leading or has won in 48 seats, while the AAP is trailing with 22 seats. The Congress party has failed to secure any seats in the 70-member Delhi Assembly, marking its third consecutive defeat in the capital.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the victory on social media, stating, "Development wins, good governance triumphs," and reaffirming his party's commitment to Delhi's development. The election was highly contested, with the BJP, AAP, and Congress all vying for dominance. The AAP, which has governed Delhi since 2013, had previously gained support for its welfare policies. However, recent scandals and corruption allegations involving its leaders, particularly Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, have tarnished the party's reputation.
