Delhi Elections 2025: AAP vs BJP vs Congress, Know What Parties Are Promising To Woo Voters
The political landscape in Delhi is heating up as the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Congress unveil their promises ahead of the 2025 elections. Each party is vying for voter attention with a range of schemes targeting various demographics, including women, youth, and senior citizens. The competition is fierce, with each party aiming to outdo the others in terms of financial benefits and freebies.
In the realm of monetary benefits, the AAP has introduced the Mahila Samman Yojana, offering ₹2100 to eligible women. Meanwhile, the BJP promises ₹2500 for women below the poverty line and ₹21,000 for pregnant women under its Matru Suraksha Vandana scheme. Congress counters with its Pyari Didi Yojna, providing ₹2500 to women.

Focus on Youth and Education
Youth and students are also a significant focus in these election promises. AAP's Dr. Ambedkar Samman Scholarship offers full financial support for Dalit students pursuing higher education abroad. The BJP proposes stipends for SC community students in technical courses and financial aid for competitive exam preparations. Congress introduces the Yuva Udan Yojna with an ₹8,500 stipend and a year-long apprenticeship.
For senior citizens aged 65 and above, AAP's Sanjeevani Yojana ensures treatment in both government and private hospitals. The BJP offers pensions ranging from ₹2,500 to ₹3,000 based on age brackets. Meanwhile, Congress pledges free treatment up to ₹25 lakh under its Jeevan Raksha Yojna.
Additional Promises
Beyond these core offerings, AAP has pledged ₹1 lakh for auto drivers' daughters' marriages and insurance schemes for auto drivers. The BJP offers subsidies on LPG cylinders along with affordable meals at Atal canteens. Congress provides a similar LPG subsidy while promising free education from kindergarten to postgraduate levels.
Freebies are another battleground where parties aim to win over voters. AAP promises free bus travel for women and students alongside electricity subsidies up to 200 units. The BJP counters with LPG cylinder subsidies during festivals like Holi and Diwali. Congress offers electricity up to 300 units without charge.
Healthcare Initiatives
Healthcare remains a crucial aspect of each party's agenda. AAP's Sanjeevani Yojana covers senior citizens' treatment costs in hospitals. The BJP extends health cover up to ₹10 lakh for individuals aged 70 and above under Ayushman Bharat scheme provisions. Congress guarantees comprehensive health insurance coverage through its Jeevan Raksha Yojna.
The national capital will go under polling in a single phase on February 5 and counting of votes will take place on February 8, 2025.
