Delhi CM Rekha Gupta's Surprise Inspection At Transport Dept.; Tightens Public Services

Delhi government has stepped up pressure on officials, with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta pairing a surprise visit to key transport offices in Burari with a large-scale reshuffle in the health department. Both moves signal tighter monitoring of government functioning and a renewed focus on timely, citizen-friendly services across major public service departments.

Delhi government transport department inspection and ATS project review

Rekha Gupta reached several important units of the transport department in Burari on Tuesday without prior intimation, catching many officers off guard. The Chief Minister inspected the regional transport office (DTO), the Vehicle Inspection Unit, the Vehicle Training Institute and the Automated Testing Station (ATS) site, closely observing service delivery, staff conduct and basic infrastructure available to visitors.

During the inspection, Rekha Gupta interacted directly with officers and employees, asked about current procedures and heard problems raised by people present there. Wherever faults or gaps appeared, instructions for immediate correction were issued on the spot. The clear objective was to ensure transport-related services reach citizens on time and with minimum inconvenience.

The Chief Minister paid special attention to the under-construction Automated Testing Station in Burari and reviewed its progress. Rekha Gupta told officials that delay in this project would not be accepted. Delhi government wants the modern facility to start within the fixed deadline, so that vehicle testing becomes more transparent, technology-driven and less dependent on manual discretion.

Delhi government health department reshuffle and accountability drive

Parallel to the transport inspection, Delhi government undertook a major administrative exercise in the health department. More than 40 medical, paramedical and administrative personnel posted in the Central Procurement Agency (CPA) were transferred together. The reshuffle aims to improve handling of medicine procurement and related health services across government hospitals and healthcare centres in the city.
