Traffic Diversions and Restrictions Around Popular Malls

To manage the heavy crowd expected at malls, particularly in Saket, traffic diversions will begin at 2 pm on Christmas Day. The Delhi Traffic Police has announced that all median cuts will be closed along the Sheikh Sarai to Hauz Rani stretch. Additionally, heavy vehicles, as well as DTC and cluster buses, will be restricted from using Press Enclave Road's carriageways. Commuters are advised to take alternative routes to avoid delays.

Alternate Routes for Commuters

For those traveling from Chirag Delhi to Qutub Minar via Press Enclave Road, an alternative route through Khanpur Red Light T Point and MB Road to Mehrauli is recommended. Similarly, traffic coming from IIT Flyover towards PTS is advised to continue on Aurbindo Marg toward Mehrauli and use TB Hospital Road to Lado Sarai via MB Road. No public transport buses will be allowed to reach Pushp Vihar from MB Road/Asian Market Red Light.

Security Measures Around Churches

With churches like Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Thomas Church (Mandir Marg), St. Martin's Church (Delhi Cantonment), and others expecting large gatherings, Delhi Police has deployed personnel to ensure smooth traffic flow and maintain security. The Sacred Heart Cathedral saw fewer visitors last year, but the police are still taking precautionary measures to handle any potential crowd surges.

Drive Against Drunken Driving

In addition to traffic management, Delhi Police will be conducting a special drive against drunken driving, which will continue until New Year's. The police are focusing on ensuring the safety of both pedestrians and drivers, especially in areas with large gatherings.

Conclusion: Ensuring Smooth Festivities

With the combination of festive crowds and safety precautions, Delhi Traffic Police is ready to handle the increased volume of people, ensuring both security and ease of travel across the city.
