Delhi: 11 of a family found dead, probe points towards 'mystical practices'
New Delhi, July 1: In a shocking incident, 11 bodies were recovered from a house in Burari area of New Delhi on early Sunday morning. The bodies include seven women and four men.

On Sunday evening, the police said that the hand written material found during the search of the house pointed that that family may have been practicing "definite spiritual/mystical practices."
"During search of the house, certain hand written notes have been found which point towards observance of some definite spiritual/mystical practices by the whole family..Coincidentally, these notes have strong similarity with the manner in which the
mouths, eyes etc of the deceased were tied and taped. The same is being
investigated further to establish its links with the deaths," ANI quoted a Delhi Police official as saying.
As per latest reports, the case has been transferred to crime branch.
A case of murder has been registered in connection with death of a 75-yr-old man, who was among the 11 dead. The last person who hung himslef may have stragulated the 75-year-old before killing himself. The food consumed by the family last nigh was laced with sedatives. It is being suspected that the family may have been planning this for days.
A report in Navbharat Times said overturned stools were found at the crime scene. However, no suicide note has been recovered from the spot. The deceased include an old woman, her two sons, their wives, two boys aged around 16-17 years and four other women. Police sources said the old woman's body was found on the floor and it was suspected that she was strangulated to death.

The Delhi Police have rushed a team to the spot. and the investigation is on. Relatives of the deceased are being called to get more information about the family.
The bodies were blind-folded and gagged, and were found hanging from the ceiling of the house opposite Guru Govind Singh Hospital.
The family owned a grocery shop near the local gurdwara and also run some furniture business.
The police are not certain if the deaths were a result of suicide or murder. The police have taken the bodies for post mortem at Guru Gobind Singh Hospital.
Speaking on the incident, Joint CP Delhi,''Bodies of 7 women and 4 men including three teenagers have been found. We are investigating from all possible angles, we are not ruling out anything.''
Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwa whol visited Burari where bodies of 11 people were found at a house, earlier today, said, "police investigation is underway."
