Delhi Assembly Polls 2025: Holiday For Central Govt Employees On February 5

In view of the Delhi Assembly polls, the central government offices and industrial establishments will remain closed on February 5 in the national capital.

Employees registered as voters in constituencies holding elections will be eligible for special casual leave, even if their workplace is outside their home constituency, the Ministry of Personnel said in its directive on Friday.

"The central government offices, including industrial establishments, shall remain closed on the day of polling in the notified areas where elections to the state legislative assembly are scheduled," statement from the the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) said.

Special Casual Leave

Under the guidelines, employees working outside their voting constituencies will also be granted special casual leave to exercise their franchise.

The order has been circulated to secretaries of all central government departments and the chief secretaries of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu to ensure compliance.

The bye-elections for two Assembly constituencies - Erode (East) in Tamil Nadu and Milkipur in Uttar Pradesh - are scheduled to be held on the same day.

BJP Manifesto

Meanwhile, BJP president JP Nadda has released the first part of the party's manifesto for the Delhi assembly polls on Friday. It announced Rs 2,500 monthly aid for women, LPG cylinders at Rs 500 and Rs 2,500 pension for senior citizens in its 'Sankalp Patra'.
