Delhi Assembly Polls 2025: CM Atishi’s Show Of Strength Delays Nomination, Set For Tomorrow
Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, who intended to submit her nomination for the upcoming Assembly elections, will now do so tomorrow. She missed the 3 pm deadline today as she accompanied Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal to the Election Commission's office to address alleged voter list manipulation.
Ms Atishi, aged 43, visited Giri Nagar Gurdwara in Kalkaji to seek blessings before her nomination. She also stopped by the Kalkaji Temple. Senior party member Manish Sisodia joined her on this visit. Following these visits, she led a roadshow in the Kalkaji constituency, which she currently represents.

Election Challenges and Campaign Efforts
The AAP leader was supposed to reach the district magistrate's office for filing her nomination papers. However, she went to the Election Commission's headquarters instead. Top AAP leaders had gathered there to discuss several issues, including alleged voter list tampering.
Ms Atishi is contesting from the Kalkaji constituency in south Delhi. In the previous election, she secured victory with an 11,000-vote margin. This time, former BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri is challenging her. Mr Bidhuri represented South Delhi in Parliament from 2014 to 2024 but lost in the recent polls.
Crowdfunding Campaign Success
Yesterday, Ms Atishi sought support for her crowdfunding campaign. She expressed gratitude for past support as an MLA and minister and now as Chief Minister of Delhi. "As a young, educated woman, your belief and donations have enabled me to imagine a career in politics—a path I couldn't have walked alone," she stated on X.
Later, Atishi shared her excitement over the campaign's success. "I am truly overwhelmed by the incredible response to my crowdfunding campaign on Day 1," she wrote. Over 335 supporters contributed more than 17 lakh rupees to the #DonateForAtishi initiative.
This significant achievement reflects people's strong faith in AAP's clean and honest politics. Ms Atishi urged supporters to maintain momentum by spreading awareness about the campaign.
The upcoming election presents challenges for Ms Atishi as she faces a formidable opponent in Mr Bidhuri. Her focus remains on addressing voter list concerns and rallying support through effective campaigning strategies.
