Delhi: 11-Year-Old Boy Drowns In 'Illegal' Swimming Pool Run By Wives Of 2 Policemen
In a tragic incident, an 11-year-old boy lost his life while swimming in Delhi's Alipur Area. According to the reports, the young child drowned during swimming classes at a pool run by the wives of two police officers. To demand justice and strict action against policemen's wives, family members of the deceased's family staged a protest outside Alipur police station.
Family members of the child have also alleged foul play in the case stating that the police is doing nothing and trying to make the case weak.

However, police sources have denied such allegations, adding that a case has been registered and an investigation is underway. Talking to the media, Deputy Commissioner of Police (outer-north) Ravi Singh said, taking cognizance of the saddening incident, a case under section 304A (death by negligence) has been registered and police investigation is underway. He also assured that culprits will get strict punishment and justice from the court.
An investigating officer of the case, on the condition of anonymity, told the media that the incident took place on May 14, when the boy and his father were swimming in the pool. His father went out of the pool to take an urgent phone call, thinking that live guards and coaches were present there but when he returned, she found that his son was at the deep end of the pool and floating motionlessly.
Immediately, the deceased's father took the young boy to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
It was also found that the swimming pool was unauthorised manner, but because the wives of two policemen were involved, nobody ever dared to raise a concern or take action.
