Dawood's Entry In Delhi Polls! CM Atishi Says BJP Talking About Farmers Is Like A Don Giving Peace Call

Delhi's Chief Minister, Atishi, has sharply criticised the BJP's approach to farmers. She compared their stance to "Dawood Ibrahim giving a sermon on non-violence." Atishi accused the BJP of worsening conditions for farmers during its rule. She stated that the hardships faced by farmers under BJP governance are unprecedented.

Earlier this year, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan wrote to Atishi. He criticised the AAP government for not implementing central schemes for farmers. Chouhan emphasised that political rivalry should not hinder farmer welfare. He accused AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal of making grand promises before elections and then complaining about issues once in power.

Farmers' Struggles and Political Accusations

Atishi urged Chouhan to encourage Prime Minister Narendra Modi to engage with protesting farmers in Punjab. She highlighted the ongoing hunger strike by these farmers and asked the BJP to stop politicising their struggles. According to her, the BJP uses force against farmers instead of addressing their grievances.

The Delhi CM's remarks came after Chouhan's letter dated January 1, which criticised AAP's handling of agricultural policies. The letter accused AAP of prioritising political gains over genuine farmer welfare. Chouhan argued that such political competition should not obstruct initiatives aimed at helping farmers.

Political Tensions Amidst Upcoming Elections

Chouhan also took a jab at Kejriwal's recent promises ahead of Delhi's assembly elections next month. He claimed that Kejriwal often makes big announcements for political advantage but fails to deliver once elected. This exchange highlights the ongoing political tensions as elections approach.

The debate between AAP and BJP reflects broader national concerns about farmer welfare and government accountability. Both parties continue to clash over how best to support India's agricultural community amidst growing challenges.
