CM Rekha Gupta Launches 75 CM SHRI Schools, Introduces AI-Enabled Classrooms and Skill Labs

Delhi's government school system has taken a major step towards modernisation with the inauguration of the CM SHRI School at Sarojini Nagar and the rollout of the CM SHRI Schools Project across 75 schools in the capital.

The initiative was formally launched by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, marking what officials described as a transformative phase in public education.

The event was chaired by Delhi's Education Minister Ashish Sood, who emphasised that the programme is designed to combine academic learning with practical skills and human values, positioning students for future-ready careers.

Foundation for "Viksit Bharat 2047"

According to the organisers, CM SHRI Schools are envisioned as institutions that will support the long-term national goal of "Viksit Bharat 2047." The model focuses on holistic development, ensuring that students receive not only subject knowledge but also skill-based training and social awareness.

Officials stated that the project seeks to reshape classroom culture, encouraging curiosity, innovation, and critical thinking while improving access to modern educational tools.

Eight Key Components Implemented Together

All eight components of the programme are being introduced simultaneously across the selected schools:

• AI-based smart classrooms
• Career counselling laboratories
• ICT laboratories
• Digital libraries
• Multi-sectoral skill laboratories
• Language laboratories
• Resource rooms for inclusive education
• CM SHRI Digital Portal for competitive exam preparation

The digital portal is expected to support students preparing for competitive examinations, while dedicated resource rooms aim to strengthen inclusive education for children with diverse learning needs.

Focus on Modern and Smart Education

Officials said the initiative aligns with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and has been guided by the Union Education Ministry's ongoing support. The goal is to transform Delhi's public schools into modern learning centres equipped with technology, guidance services, and skill-development infrastructure.

With AI-driven teaching tools, career counselling support and expanded digital access, the government hopes the CM SHRI Schools Project will improve learning outcomes and help students transition more confidently into higher education and the workforce.
