Botanical Garden To Greater Noida Metro Route Gets Boost With Bodaki Approval

In a major development for commuters in Noida, the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) is preparing to extend metro connectivity from Botanical Garden (Sector 38A) to Greater Noida through three new corridors - Noida-Greater Noida West, Bodaki, and Sector 142. To move the project forward, NMRC has floated a tender to appoint a detailed design consultant who will be responsible for surveying civil design, cost estimates, electrical and mechanical works, and track alignment.

Bodaki Route Gets Central Approval

At present, only the Bodaki route has received clearance from the Central Government. A meeting has already been conducted at the central level regarding the proposed Sector 142-Botanical Garden corridor, and the minutes of the discussion will be released soon. Following this, the proposal will be placed before the Union Cabinet for final approval.

Mahendra Prasad, Executive Director of NMRC, said, "We want to prioritise the 11.56 km Metro link as it will provide direct connectivity from distant pockets of Greater Noida to the upcoming Noida Airport. Work will commence once the Centre grants approval."

On the other hand, no meeting has yet been held regarding the Noida-Greater Noida West route, and officials have indicated that this corridor's approval process will take longer.

Consultancy Work Worth Rs 24.21 Crore

Under the current tender, the selected consultant will prepare a detailed report covering civil structures, cost evaluation, track design, and electrical and mechanical systems for all three proposed routes. NMRC will pay Rs 24.21 crore for the consultancy work.

Delhi Metro and NMRC Connectivity in Noida

In addition to NMRC services, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) also operates in Noida. The Blue Line of DMRC runs from Dwarka Sector 21 to Electronic City in Noida Sector 62, passing through key stations such as Noida Sector 16, Sector 18, Botanical Garden, Noida City Centre, and Sector 52.

The Sector 51 station of NMRC is linked with DMRC's Sector 52 station on the Blue Line. From Sector 51, NMRC's Aqua Line runs up to Depot Station, covering important stops such as Sector 142, Knowledge Park II, and Pari Chowk.
