BJP Vs AAP: Poster War Intensifies Ahead Of Delhi Assembly Elections
As the Delhi Assembly elections approach, the political rivalry between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has taken a new form with an escalating poster war.
Both parties are fiercely targeting each other through bold and provocative posters aimed at swaying the voters ahead of the February 5 elections.

BJP Targets Kejriwal with Controversial Poster
The BJP launched a scathing poster on January 12, mocking Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal. The poster depicted Kejriwal wearing a crown, holding a glass of liquor in one hand and a liquor bottle tucked into his suit pocket. This image appeared to reference Kejriwal's resignation as Delhi CM last year following his involvement in the controversial liquor policy case.
The background of the poster included visuals symbolizing key issues in Delhi, such as overcrowded water tankers, pollution, toxic foam in the Yamuna, and flooding. The caption, "This AAP-Da gang has ruined Delhi! Now we will not tolerate it, we will change our mind," pointedly attacked the AAP's governance. The BJP also coined the term "AAPda" (disaster), further adding fuel to the political fire.
AAP Strikes Back with Criticism of BJP Leaders
In retaliation, AAP unleashed a series of posters targeting BJP leaders. One notable poster aimed at BJP's Ramesh Bidhuri, features the leader emerging from a torn poster with the caption, "Abusive party's abusive Chief Minister candidate." This was a direct response to Bidhuri's controversial remarks, questioning his credibility as a potential Chief Ministerial candidate.
The AAP also released another poster targeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah. It depicted Shah playing chess, with Congress leaders Sandeep Dikshit, Ajay Maken, and Alka Lamba portrayed as pawns. The poster's caption, "Delhi Congress leaders are pawns in the hands of BJP and Amit Shah in electoral chess," accused the BJP of using Congress leaders to manipulate the upcoming election in their favour.
High Stakes for Delhi Voters
With the elections just weeks away, the battle between BJP and AAP is heating up as both parties try to outdo each other in terms of strategy, messaging, and voter outreach. Campaigning for the 70 seats in the Delhi Assembly will take place in a single phase on February 5, with the vote counting scheduled for February 8.
This intense poster war between the BJP and AAP underscores the high-stakes nature of the upcoming election, where governance, accountability, and political strategies are at the forefront of the political discourse. As both parties aim to win the trust of Delhi voters, the coming weeks will witness more sharp exchanges and fierce competition.
