New Delhi, Oct 23: The BJP's parliamentary board is set to meet at 11 am on Wednesday to decide on the chief ministerial candidate for Delhi assembly elections. The state unit of the party is facing a challenging time ahead of the December 4 polls over choosing its face.

Sources said that the BJP is likely to name former Delhi health minister Harsh Vardhan as its CM candidate. Reports have been doing rounds that Delhi BJP has been hit by rift over its chief ministerial candidate. State party chief Vijay Goel has been reportedly sidelined although Harsh Vardhan rubbished such reports a couple of days ago, saying such reports were created by the media and it was not important as who would get what post.

He said the central leaders will take the decision and they would abide by it.

The BJP will have a tough ask in the Delhi elections where it will be pitted against the 15-year-old Congress regime and a fiercely competitive Aam Aadmi Party. The party needs to settle its leadership question fast before it can concentrate on the poll strategy.
