Chirag Paswan clears the air, says Manjhi is like a family member

New Delhi, Sept 15: A day after meeting BJP President Amit Shah here, LJP leader Chirag Paswan on Tuesday said that his party was 'shocked but not upset' over the seat sharing arrangement.

Speaking to reporters here, Paswan said: "Somewhere we were surprised regarding the seat sharing that has been proposed."

LJP not upset with seat sharing: Chirag

This comes after there were reports that LJP leader Ram Vilas Paswan was upset with the number of seats given. However, Chirag cleared the air and said that the LJP cadre was a bit dissatisfied with the seat sharing but not upset.

After meeting Shah last night, Chirag was told by the BJP chief that there are certain complusions in coalition dharma and that he will try to accommodate the concerns of the LJP "as much as possible".

"We have apprised the BJP chief about about our concerns. We are happy that our concerns have been honoured and we are moving towards a solution," Chirag said.

Paswan also said that there were no differences between the LJP and Jitan Ram Manjhi's HAM and Upendra Kushwaha's RLSP.

"Want to make it clear that Manjhi ji, Kushwaha ji are like family members. Seat numbers isn't something we'll split with BJP on," he said. He went on to add that the LJP was happy with the number of seats that Manjhi's LJP has been given.

Meanwhile, Bihar BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi on Monday, Sept 14 had said people believe that development has become a casualty after Nitish Kumar dumped BJP to join hands with RJD and Congress.
