Arvind Kejriwal Set To Resign As Delhi Chief Minister In 2 Days— What’s The New Strategy?
AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal announced on Sunday that he plans to resign as Delhi's chief minister within the next two days.
This statement came during his first address to AAP workers since being released on bail in the Delhi excise policy case.

In his speech, Kejriwal accused the BJP of attempting to dismantle his party and form their own government by arresting him. He claimed they aimed to break his spirit but did not succeed. "They wanted to break the party, break Kejriwal's courage and morale... they have made a formula-- break parties, break MLAs, send leaders to jail. They thought they would form a government in Delhi by sending Kejriwal to jail...But they couldn't break our party... they couldn't even break away from the party workers," he said.
Allegations Against BJP
Kejriwal elaborated on the alleged tactics used by the BJP, stating that their strategy involved jailing opposition leaders where they lost elections. He mentioned that this was part of a broader plan to undermine democracy in India. "I didn't resign because I wanted to protect the country's democracy... They have made a new formula -- wherever they lose, they send the CM to jail and form their government," he added.
He also urged other opposition chief ministers not to step down if they were imprisoned on what he described as false charges. This appeal was directed at ensuring that democratic processes are upheld despite political pressures.
Kejriwal's comments come amid heightened political tensions and ongoing investigations into various allegations against political figures. His statements reflect a broader concern about the integrity of democratic institutions in India.
The AAP leader's decision to resign is expected to have significant political ramifications, both within Delhi and nationally. It remains to be seen how this will impact the political landscape and whether it will lead to further confrontations between AAP and BJP.
As events unfold, all eyes will be on how both parties navigate this turbulent period. The situation underscores the volatile nature of Indian politics and the challenges faced by opposition parties in maintaining their positions against ruling entities.
