Anti-Corruption Bureau At Arvind Kejriwal's Residence Over Poaching Allegations Against BJP

A team from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrived at the residence of AAP national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal following a directive from the Delhi Lieutenant Governor's (LG) office. The move comes after the LG's principal secretary wrote to the chief secretary, calling for an ACB inquiry into allegations that bribes were offered to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs.

Delhi Lt Governor VK Saxena has given a nod to the investigation into AAP's claims ahead of the counting of votes for 70 seats in the Delhi Assembly polls.

However, The BJP, however, dismissed the allegations, calling them defamatory and politically motivated to tarnish its image before the results.

Reacting to AAP's claims, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari stated, "We are taking the allegations of horse-trading seriously and will file a complaint. What is the basis of these accusations? The BJP will not tolerate such baseless claims. The AAP government has failed Delhi-be it pollution, water supply, infrastructure, or pensions for senior citizens. I am confident that tomorrow (February 8), AAP, which has become 'AAP-da' (a sinking ship), will be ousted from power."

Meanwhile, AAP MLA candidate Vinay Mishra alleged that he was approached with an offer to switch sides. "A member of the 'Galli Galoch Party' came to me yesterday, offering ₹15 crore if I joined their party before the election results. They also promised a ministerial post if I brought along another MLA. If the surveys are truly in their favor, why are they making such offers? This means the surveys are false. I refused the offer and told them I stand with Arvind Kejriwal," Mishra said.

Echoing similar concerns, AAP MP Sandeep Pathak asserted that the allegations were based on facts. "Many of our leaders have received calls. We even disclosed the number from which the calls came. The BJP's tactics are well known; this is part of their election management. While others focus on counting votes, they focus on engineering defections," he claimed.

On the meeting held by the AAP Convenor with the candidates, AAP leader Durgesh Pathak said, "He is meeting them post-elections to gather feedback. Many candidates have received phone calls, and we are keeping a close watch on the situation."
