Another domestic help tortured in the capital, NRI woman arrested

New Delhi, Nov 15: Just days after news of a domestic help being tortured and beaten to death by

MLA Dhananay Singh's wife surfaced, comes another shocker of maid abuse from the capital.

A US-based NRI was arrested on Thursday for allegedly torturing her domestic help. The woman, was found locked in a room with dog bites on her body, in a starved condition.

Jain's domestic help hails from Kolkata

Arti Jain, 45 was arrested from her residence, and allegedly showed no mercy to her domestic help. Police officials said that Jain set her dogs on her, kicked her and punched her in the face for small mistakes. But it does not stop her.

Jain even burnt her with a hot iron whenever she asked for her salary, police officials added. The domestic help, who hails from Kolkata said that she was locked up but managed to come out on Wednesday and called for help.

A police officer said: "She had been working at Jain's for over four months and had been employed through a placement agency."
