Along with assets, Kejriwal declares 9 criminal cases against him

The party, that managed to collect Rs 20 crore solely on donations to fight the assembly elections, has been fielding some crorepatis, much to the surprise of the public. And it does not stop here.
Kejriwal, on Saturday delcared assets worth Rs 2 crore, including those of his wife and also mentioned in the affidavit that he had 9 cases pending against him. This comes to light after the party said that it will not field any candidates with any criminal charges against them.
Cases were filed during his fight for the Anti-Corruption campaign
The cases, reports suggest, were filed against him during his fight for the Anti- Corruption campaign with social activist Anna Hazare in 2011. Kejriwal, on the AAP website too, declares these claims [read more].
Some cases pending against him may even entail him to a punishment of two years or more.
His assets, meanwhile have drawn a lot of attention with him declaring two flats in his name, one in Ghaziabad and other in Haryana. In the affidavit he declared cash of Rs 10,000 in hand while his wife had Rs 5,000 in hand.
While the party claims to be have maintained transparency in all its process- from funding to declaration of assets- it will have to wait for December 8 to see if it has actually managed to captivate the Delhites' attention for a change in the political system.
