AAP minister 'disrupts' film screening for delivering speech: Report

somnath-bharti
New Delhi, Jan 9: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) minister Somnath Bharti on Wednesday faced criticism for arriving at a film-screening ceremony at the India International Centre (IIC) one hour late, allegedly stopping the show to deliver his speech and leaving soon after his speech ended, a Hindusstan Times report said on Wednesday.

Ace filmmaker Satyajit Ray's classic Parash Pathar was being screened at the IIC as part of a film festival organised by Rasaja Foundation. According to an IIC member, the beginning of the screening of the film was delayed because the minister didn't turn up and then when he arrived with people wearing AAP caps, the screening had to be stopped for Bharti's speech, the report said.

Bharti came an hour late & the show was stopped for his speech, the report said

Incidentally, Bharti holds the department of law, tourism, administrative reforms and art and culture.
Bharti was invited for inaugurating the film festival but the invitation card did not mention his name, the report added and a protest was registered in the guestbook, according to the minister.
