AAP Launches Lohri-Themed Campaign Song Ahead Of Delhi Elections

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) unveiled a new campaign song titled "Phir Kejriwal nu chun lo" (Choose Kejriwal Again) on Monday, celebrating Lohri and highlighting the achievements of its government in Delhi. The 1.33-minute video underscores AAP's accomplishments in health, education, reduced electricity bills, and improved water supply.

The song's release is part of AAP's strategy to bolster support as it aims for a third consecutive term in Delhi's assembly elections scheduled for February 5, with results to be announced on February 8.

BJP's Counter-Campaign Songs

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), intensifying its campaign, has released two songs targeting AAP.

"Sheesh Mahal apda failane walon ka adda" criticizes the alleged extravagant expenditures on constructing Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence at 6 Flagstaff Road.
"Bahane nahi badlav chahiye, Delhi mein BJP sarkar chahiye", sung by BJP MP Manoj Tiwari, focuses on the party's vision of transformation and calls for a change in governance.

AAP's Election Anthem

Earlier, AAP launched another anthem, "Fir Layenge Kejriwal", emphasizing its welfare schemes and resilience amid challenges posed by the ongoing tussle with the lieutenant governor. The lyrics convey determination: "Unke roke ye nahi rukta, chalta rehta apni chaal. Saamne wale shor machaye, karle chahe jitna bawal" (He doesn't stop when they try to halt him. He keeps moving forward, undeterred by noise and chaos).

AAP, which won 62 out of 70 seats in the 2020 elections, is focusing on maintaining its dominance. Meanwhile, BJP aims to capture the capital, spotlighting AAP's governance record and promoting its own vision for change.

Urgent Appeal to Election Commission

In a related development, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal announced that a party delegation would meet the Election Commission on Monday to address the urgent issue of transferring the vote of Patparganj candidate Awadh Ojha.

Ojha had filed for the transfer of his vote from Greater Noida to Delhi on January 7, the last permissible day. However, the Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi issued an order retroactively changing the deadline to January 6, which Kejriwal alleged was an attempt to disqualify Ojha from contesting.

"This is against the law," Kejriwal asserted, expressing the urgency of resolving the issue. The delegation plans to meet the Chief Election Commissioner, despite not being granted an official appointment.
