AAP Assault Controversy | Atishi Alleges Swati Maliwal As 'Face Of BJP Conspiracy'; Maliwal Responds
An all-out attack was launched on its Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), mere days subsequent to her accusation of being assaulted by Bibhav Kumar, the personal secretary of Arvind Kejriwal, at the official residence of the Delhi Chief Minister, on Friday.
The accusatory tone from the AAP followed the dissemination of a viral video capturing Maliwal engaged in a heated argument with a staff member at Kejriwal's residence. In response, the party vehemently dismissed Maliwal's allegations as 'lies'.

AAP Alleges Swati Maliwal As Face Of BJP Conspiracy
During a press conference, Atishi, a minister in Delhi, insinuated that Maliwal had been manoeuvred into visiting Kejriwal's residence on the morning of May 13th as part of a conspiracy concocted by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The purported aim of this scheme was to implicate Kejriwal, although the Chief Minister was not present at the time, thereby foiling the plot. Following Maliwal's complaint, wherein she alleged assault by Bibhav Kumar, the AAP's narrative was further cemented.

The minister further emphasized that the newly surfaced video portrayed Maliwal seated comfortably in the drawing room of the Chief Minister's residence, engaged in a confrontational exchange with police officials. In the video, she was observed issuing threats to both the police and Bibhav Kumar.
Atishi highlighted the absence of any visible signs of physical altercation, such as torn clothing or injuries to Maliwal's head, thereby casting doubt on the authenticity of her claims.
This assault controversy involving Swati Maliwal escalated further when Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh corroborated the incident, affirming that Kejriwal had acknowledged it and vowed to take suitable action. Subsequently, Maliwal's statement was formally recorded by the Tis Hazari court in Delhi on Friday.
Simultaneously, the Delhi Police initiated legal proceedings by filing an FIR against Bibhav Kumar, acting upon Maliwal's complaint. In the FIR, Maliwal alleged that Kumar had subjected her to physical assault, including slapping her multiple times and forcefully dragging her while delivering kicks to her chest, stomach, and pelvis region.
Swati Maliwal Responds to Accusations of Being BJP Conspiracy 'Face'
On Friday, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Swati Maliwal was hit back at by her own party after accusations were made by Delhi minister Atishi, who accused her of being the face of a 'Bharatiya Janata Party conspiracy' against Arvind Kejriwal.
Maliwal's response was posted on the social platform X, where she highlighted that leaders who recently joined the party labelled her, an active party worker for 20 years, as a BJP agent. Two days prior, the party had acknowledged the truth in a press conference before abruptly changing its stance. Maliwal further emphasized the pressure she faced from an individual, whom she referred to as a "goon," who threatened to expose secrets if she was arrested. She accused the party of accepting defeat under pressure from this individual and questioned her character to save him.

Despite facing these challenges, Maliwal asserted her commitment to fighting for women's rights and expressed confidence that the truth would eventually prevail. The AAP had earlier referred to Maliwal as the 'face and pawn' of a BJP conspiracy against the Delhi chief minister.
