5 injured in road accident at Punjabi Bagh

New Delhi, July 9: Five persons were injured after a car driven by a 27-year-old woman in an inebriated state hit their vehicle in west Delhi's Punjabi Bagh area, police said.

Vikas Saini (42) and hi family were in the car hired for travelling from Nangloi to Paharganj. When they reached Madipur, the other vehicle driven by the woman hit their cab, police said.

Other than Saini, his wife Radhika (42), their son Gautam (17) and daughter Varidi (12) along with the cab driver Sonu were injured in the accident. They were admitted to Maharaja Agrasen Hospital in West Punjabi Bagh area, a police officer said.

An FIR has been registered against the woman driver, a resident of west Delhi's Paschim Vihar. She told police that she lost control over her vehicle as she was in an inebriated state, he added.
