4.2 magnitude earthquake hits Haryana, tremors felt in Delhi

Chandigarh, Nov 17: A 4.2 magnitude earthquake hit Haryana on Thursday morning as a result of which tremors were felt in Delhi and parts of the National Capital Region. According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake was shallow at a depth of 10 kilometers.

The tremors lasted almost a minute. It shook Delhi, Ghaziabad and Gurgaon at 4.30 AM, Thursday. The Indian Meteorological Department of the IMD said that the epicenter of the earthquake was at the Delhi-Haryana border.

There were no immediate reports of damage or casualty reported. Many citizens took to their Twitter handles to speak about the earthquake.
While some on Twitter said they panicked, others chose to joke about it. Abhinav Kulkarni (@kuliar89) tweeted, " God is reminding Delhi walas to go and stand in front of the ATM.
