The charges include cruelty to animals, putting individual safety at risk, and negligence, all falling under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. It was discovered during the initial investigation that this race was held without any official authorisation. The organizers and participants reportedly convened at the Fatima Christian Community Hall in Ghatkopar West to coordinate their plans for the illicit event.

Despite the severity of the allegations and the clear evidence of wrongdoing, no arrests have been reported so far. However, officials have committed to conducting a comprehensive investigation into the matter.
