A dramatic and bizarre scene unfolded on the Santacruz flyover in Mumbai, where a man was seen perched atop a speeding taxi. The incident, which has since gone viral on social media, occurred after the taxi driver allegedly collided with the man's car and attempted to flee.
The video, shared by Hate Detector on X, formerly known as Twitter, captured the chaotic moment. It shows the man clinging to the roof of the moving taxi, whose registration number was clearly visible as MH 03 AX 0199. According to eyewitnesses, the man climbed onto the roof in an effort to stop the driver from escaping after the alleged hit-and-run.

The driver, however, refused to halt despite repeated pleas from other commuters. Bystanders shouted for him to pull over, but the driver ignored them and continued speeding. In the video, the taxi's windshield is seen shattered, adding to the alarming nature of the situation.
When questioned by onlookers, the man on the roof reportedly said, "He hit my vehicle and is running away." In desperation, he shouted for the driver to stop the car by the side of the road, but his efforts were futile.

Mumbai Police stations, including the Santacruz and Vakola branches, have stated that they have not received any complaints about the incident so far.
This incident comes amid growing concerns over road safety in Mumbai and other cities like Pune, which have seen a rise in hit-and-run cases in recent months. Many such cases involve minors behind the wheel, raising questions about accountability and enforcement of traffic laws.
