WATCH | Did Mumbai's Local Train Turn Into A Water Ride? Internet Reacts To Viral Video!
Mumbai has been witnessing relentless rainfall, leading to significant chaos and disruption for residents.
Multiple areas have been affected by widespread waterlogging triggered by incessant rain, with roads transformed into rivers, railway tracks submerged, and flight operations impacted by low runway visibility.

Mumbai Local Video Goes Viral
Social media is filled with visuals of the havoc, including flooded streets and submerged vehicles. Among these, a particularly striking video shows a train navigating through submerged railway tracks, capturing the financial capital's struggle against the relentless downpour.
The video, which captures both the engine and the first compartment of a local train in Mumbai, was recorded by passengers on an opposite train. It shows the train moving through waterlogged tracks with people standing at the exit gate of the first compartment.
Initially shared by a journalist on X and later reshared by many, the footage quickly went viral, amassing over 1.6 lakh views and sparking a flurry of reactions in the comment section.
The video was reshared with a witty caption, "They did a collab between Railways and Waterways during #MumbaiRains."
A range of reactions followed in the comment section, with one user quipping, "When 'Seaways' in GTA Vice City," while another added, "Inauguration of Water metro." Another user sarcastically noted, "This is a rare technical innovation where we left behind China and Japan also, driving trains over water. Every year our train switches to amphibious mode in the rain."
Another chimed in with, "Vande waters... world's first Amphibious train technology."
Someone else jokingly wrote, "No track, no problem. The Indian railway is always there for you.
Another hilarious comment read, "When you pay for a train ticket (maybe not), and you get a water ride for free."
The streak of humourous reactions continued with remarks like "Venice is so old-fashioned. We have trains floating on water" and "First indigenously built train-ship launched in #MumbaiRains."
An individual commented. "Honest taxpayers going to office so that the government can deduct more taxes and provide them with even more flooding next year. Story of India."
Schools in Mumbai have been shut down due to heavy rains, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a red alert for Tuesday predicting even heavier showers.
The ongoing downpour has not only caused major disruptions to road and rail traffic but has also significantly affected air travel. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) has temporarily suspended operations, leading to multiple flight diversions and more than 50 flight cancellations.
