Travel Advisory: Mumbai Local Trains Disrupted Today Due To Maintenance Block—See Updated Schedule Here

Central Railway has announced a mega block on both the Harbour and Main lines in Mumbai, scheduled for Sunday, July 21 on X, formerly known as Twitter. "Mega Block on Up & Down Harbour and Main Line on 21/07/2024 (Sunday). Check the schedule for the last and first locals before and after the block," said the advisory.

This block is necessary for essential maintenance work to ensure the safety and upkeep of the railway infrastructure. The block will affect services between Matunga and Mulund on the Main Line and between Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CSMT) and Chunabhatti/Bandra on the Harbour line.

I. Main Line Block Details
a) Down Fast Line:
The last local train departing before the block on the Down Fast Line will leave CSMT at 10:20 AM. This train is scheduled to arrive at Badlapur at 11:46 AM, providing the final opportunity for passengers to travel before the maintenance work begins.

After the block, the first local train will depart from CSMT at 03:03 PM. This service is expected to arrive at Badlapur at 04:27 PM, resuming regular operations on the Down Fast Line.

b) Up Fast Line:
On the Up Fast Line, the last local train before the block will depart from Ambernath at 09:52 AM. This train will reach CSMT at 11:10 AM, marking the end of services before the block is implemented.

Following the block, the first local train will leave Kasara at 01:13 PM. It is scheduled to arrive at CSMT at 03:17 PM, thus reinstating the usual train services on the Up Fast Line.

II. Harbour Line Block Details
a) Up Harbour Line:
The block on the Up Harbour Line will be in effect from 11:10 AM to 04:10 PM. The last local train departing before the block will leave Panvel at 09:40 AM and is scheduled to arrive at CSMT at 11:00 AM. This train will be the final service before the maintenance work begins, ensuring passengers reach their destinations ahead of the block.

Once the block is lifted, the first local train will depart from Panvel at 03:28 PM. This train will arrive at CSMT at 04:47 PM, marking the resumption of services on the Up Harbour Line.

b) Down Harbour Line:
For the Down Harbour Line, the block will be enforced from 11:40 hrs to 16:40 hrs. The last local train before the block will depart from CSMT at 11:04 AM, reaching Panvel at 12:24 PM. Passengers are advised to catch this train if they need to travel before the block is in place.

Post-block, the first local train will leave CSMT at 04:51 PM and will arrive at Panvel at 06:11 PM. This will signal the end of the maintenance period and the return to normal train operations on the Down Harbour Line.

III. Additional Services And Passenger Advisory
During the block period, special services will run between Kurla and Panvel at 20-minute intervals. Harbour line passengers are permitted to travel via the Main Line and Western Railway between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm.

Central Railway has issued an advisory to passengers to plan their travel accordingly to avoid inconvenience. These maintenance mega blocks are crucial for the infrastructure upkeep and safety of the railway network. The Railway Administration has requested passengers to bear with them during this period.
