Thane Traffic Police Announce Advisory For Ganesh Festival Traffic Management In 2025

The Thane Traffic Police have issued a traffic advisory for the Ganesh festival, scheduled from August 27 to September 6, 2025. This advisory details traffic arrangements and restrictions in Thane to ensure smooth movement during Ganpati idol immersions. Key immersion points like Rayaladevi, Mod Checkpoint, and Wagle Estate will have special traffic management measures to prevent congestion and provide a hassle-free experience for devotees and commuters.

To maintain smooth traffic flow around Payaladevi Temple, Upvan Lake, and Vartaknagar during the festival, the Thane Traffic Police urge citizens to cooperate with these arrangements and plan their travel accordingly. The advisory highlights specific routes where entry will be restricted for vehicles not carrying Ganpati idols.

Traffic Restrictions and Alternate Routes

Entry is closed for all vehicles from Maharashtra Bank to Jilaniwadi via Road No. 16, except those carrying Ganpati idols. Vehicles on this route should proceed straight via Modella Checkpoint. Similarly, entry is restricted from Raghunath Nagar, Hazuri at Sankalp Chowk towards Maharashtra Bank Jilaniwadi. An alternate route is available through Raheja Cut.

No parking zones are established between Road No. 16 and Modella Checkpoint, as well as between Jilaniwadi and Sankalp Chowk. Additionally, one side of the road from Modella Checkpoint to MSEB Office towards Teen Hat Point is designated as a no-parking zone for all vehicles.

Additional Traffic Measures

Vehicles traveling from Vartaknagar Shastrinagar Devdayanagar Gandhinagar Kapurbawdi to Upvan Talav are restricted at Birsa Munda Chowk. They should turn right at Birsa Munda Chowk, proceed via Pawarnagar, turn left at Assen Pvt. Ltd., and continue through Gawandbagh.

For those heading from Gandhinagar Kapurbawdi and Pawarnagar to Yeur via Upvan Talav, they must turn left at Birsa Munda Chowk, then right at Devdayanagar Chowk to reach their destination. Entry is also closed for all societies in Gawandbagh area at Koknipada No. 1 near the public toilet opposite Lotus Society Main Gate.

No Parking Zones

No parking is allowed on both sides of roads between Payaladevi Temple and Birsa Munda Chowk, Payaladevi Temple and Ampy Theatre, as well as between Birsa Munda Chowk and Ravi Estate Society (Devdayanagar) Mantranjali Bungalow.

This advisory will be effective on August 28 (one-and-a-half days), August 31 (five days), September 2 (Gauri Ganpati seven days), September 6 (Anant Chaturdashi) starting from noon until the end of the Ganpati Visarjan procession program.

The restrictions do not apply to police vehicles, fire brigade units, ambulances, vehicles involved in Ganesh idol immersion or other essential services.
