Grand Water Cannon Salute To Victory Parade: India Bleeds Blue
The victory parade, initially scheduled for 5 pm IST at Mumbai's Marine Drive, was delayed due to the team's later-than-expected arrival in the city. As soon as the team's flight landed at Mumbai airport, they were honoured with a cannon salute, a heartwarming gesture that marked their return.
The T20 World Cup-winning side has been scheduled for a two-hour open bus parade, which will start from the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) in Nariman Point and proceed to the Wankhede Stadium. The Wankhede Stadium had its gates thrown open to fans, who quickly filled the stands to celebrate the Indian cricket team's title triumph last Saturday. Rohit Sharma's team, along with its support staff, is set to make their way to the southern tip of the city, where the Wankhede Stadium is located.
The open-top bus parade in Mumbai today, celebrating their T20 World Cup 2024 victory, will be led by India captain Rohit Sharma. The bus, however, is currently stuck in traffic near Kokilaben Hospital as fans have already filled up Wankhede Stadium.
The ground is alive with chants of 'Mumbai Cha Raja Rohit Sharma,' eagerly awaiting their local hero who led the team to World Cup glory. Gates No. 2, 3, and 4 were promptly opened for fans at 4:00 PM on Thursday, July 4. Entry to Wankhede Stadium has been announced as free by the BCCI and the Maharashtra Cricket Association.
