Saif Ali Khan Stabbing Case: Key Fingerprint Evidence Fails To Link Main Suspect To Scene?
The fingerprints collected by the cops in Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan's stabbing case do not match with that of the accused Shariful Islam, News18 reported citing the chargesheet.
What's In The Chargesheet?

The authorities had collected nearly 20 samples and sent them to the state CID's Fingerprint Bureau. 19 out of 20 did not match with that of the accused, a Bangladeshi national, the report said.
On January 16, actor Saif Ali Kha, husband of noted actress Kareena Kapoor, was stabbed multiple times with a knife by an intruder. The incident occurred inside his 12th-floor apartment in upscale Bandra on January 16. He was rushed to the hospital on an auto-rickshaw, and he underwent emergency surgery at Lilavati Hospital.
The police nabbed Shariful two days after the incident.
The fingerprints found on the black bathroom door, the sliding door of the bedroom, and the cupboard door are not matching with the accused in the case. However, one fingerprint collected from the eighth floor of the building matched that of the accused, as per the chargesheet, which is over 1000 pages.
Nonetheless, the chargesheet has several pieces of evidence collected against the accused. The chargesheet, which is submitted to the Metropolitan Magistrate Court, contains facial recognition test results, fingerprint reports, an identification parade report, and findings of the forensic lab.
Shariful Seeking Bail
Last month, Shariful Islam moved a court here for bail, claiming he has been implicated in the case. In his plea, he claimed "the first information report (FIR) is patently false and a false case has been registered against him".
The accused, in the plea, claimed his arrest was illegal, as the investigating agency had "clearly and blatantly disregarded" section 47 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), which pertains to informing a person about the grounds of his arrest as well as right to bail.
