Riteish Deshmukh Advocates For Local Issues In Latur Campaign Supporting Dhiraj Deshmukh
Actor Riteish Deshmukh recently campaigned in Latur Rural, supporting his brother Dhiraj Vilasrao Deshmukh, a Congress candidate, for the Maharashtra Assembly Elections. He compared the current political scenario to the Lok Sabha elections, highlighting local issues like unemployment despite Latur's educational reputation. Riteish criticised the BJP for using religion in politics and urged voters to focus on these pressing matters when voting on November 20.
Riteish criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for prioritising religion in their campaigns. He referenced Hindu teachings and Lord Krishna, saying, "Work is Dharma. Performing duties diligently is Karma, and that itself is Dharma. Those who work honestly embody Dharma, but those who do not work use religion as a shield."

Focus on Real Issues
He further commented on how political parties claim that religion is in danger, calling on people to 'save religion' and 'protect Dharma.' Riteish argued that these parties are actually seeking protection for their own political interests, disguising their needs under the guise of religion.
Addressing voters, Riteish urged them to not fall for divisive tactics. "Tell those who preach religion that we will take care of Dharma; instead, let's talk about real issues that affect our lives," he advised. "Ask them what price they'll ensure for our crops, whether our mothers and sisters are truly safe," he added.
Confidence in Leadership
Riteish expressed confidence in his brothers Dhiraj and Amit Deshmukh's ability to manage regional responsibilities effectively. He highlighted their dedication and capability to serve the community well. Riteish assured voters of Maha Vikas Aghadi's success in forming the next government and fulfilling promises made to the people.
The Latur Rural Assembly Constituency is set for a fierce contest as Congress's Dhiraj Deshmukh competes against BJP's Ramesh Karad and MNS leader Santosh Ganpatrao Nagargoje. The 288-member Maharashtra Assembly will vote on November 20 with results expected by November 23.
