Raj, Uddhav failed to fulfil Bal Thackeray's last wish, Mumbai shocked
It was reported that Bal Thackeray, during his later days, had expressed his desire to see both Raj and Uddhav together. He reportedly had wanted them to remove differences and make a team to fight elections. Though Uddhav had once showed his leniency to patch up with Raj, the latter had overruled all speculations regarding his patch with Shiv Sena.
People in Mumbai and other parts of the country were shocked when Raj decided to give a miss to attend the function organised to remember Bal Thackeray on his first death anniversary on Sunday, Nov 17.
Raj decided not to attend the function organised to remember Bal Thackeray
All eyes were on Raj who resides just miles away from Shivaji Park where the function was held. The MNS chief did not turn up to the venue and stayed indoors all day. However, last year during Bal Thackeray's funeral, both Raj and Uddhav had attended it together.
Bal Thackeray passed away Nov 17, 2012 and a day later his public funeral was held at Shivaji Park with a gathering of nearly two million people. In 2006, Raj left Shiv Sena to form the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). The reason behind formation of MNS was that Raj was unhappy that his uncle Bal Thackeray asked his son Uddhav to lead the party.
Recently apolitical commentator Prakash Bal was quoted as saying, "All eyes are on the MNS chief, on what he does next and how he plays his cards. But if he joins hands with Uddhav, it will be political suicide."
