Poladpur–Mahabaleshwar Road Via Ambenali Ghat Closed Until July 14 After Major Landslide

The Poladpur-Mahabaleshwar route via Ambenali Ghat has been completely closed to vehicular traffic from July 10 to July 14, 2025, following a major landslide that left debris scattered across the road. The Raigad District Collector ordered the shutdown after local authorities raised safety concerns and emphasized the need for uninterrupted clearance operations.

Closure Details:

The shutdown impacts travel in both directions - from Poladpur to Mahabaleshwar and vice versa. The debris removal process is expected to take four to five days, during which time no vehicles will be allowed to pass through the stretch.

Alternate Routes Advised:

Motorists heading towards Satara, Pune, or Kolhapur are advised to use alternative routes:

• Poladpur-Mangaon-Tamhini-Pune-Satara
• Poladpur-Chiplun-Patan-Satara-Kolhapur

Authorities have requested public cooperation and asked travelers to plan their journeys accordingly to avoid disruptions.

The road will remain closed until all fallen rocks, boulders, and mud are cleared, and the route is officially declared safe for travel.
