PM Modi In Mumbai Metro: Prime Minister Shares Memorable Moments After Launching Mega Projects In Maharashtra
Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently shared a video his X handle showcasing memorable moments from his Mumbai Metro ride. The captures him interacting with various commuters, including youth and labourers. A standout moment in the video is when a girl performs music by singing and playing the guitar next to Modi on the moving metro train.
In a significant move to enhance urban mobility, PM Modi inaugurated the BKC to Aarey JVLR section of Mumbai Metro Line 3. This project, costing approximately Rs 14,120 crore, includes 10 stations, with nine of them being underground. The inauguration took place on Saturday and marks a major development in Mumbai's transportation infrastructure.

Infrastructure Projects in Thane
During the event in Thane, PM Modi also laid foundation stones for several initiatives worth over Rs 32,800 crore. These include the Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project and the Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension. Additionally, he initiated the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) project.
The Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project is set to cost around Rs 12,200 crore. It will span 29 km and feature 20 elevated and two underground stations. This ambitious project aims to meet the increasing transportation demands of Thane, an important industrial and commercial centre in Maharashtra.
Seamless Connectivity Enhancements
The Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension will connect Chheda Nagar to Anand Nagar in Thane. This extension promises seamless connectivity from south Mumbai to Thane, significantly improving travel times for commuters between these regions.
The NAINA project involves constructing major arterial roads, bridges, flyovers, underpasses, and integrated utility infrastructure at an estimated cost of Rs 2,550 crore. These developments are expected to boost connectivity and support economic growth in the region.
Moreover, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for the new Thane Municipal Corporation building. This construction is projected to cost around Rs 700 crore and will further enhance civic infrastructure in Thane.
These projects collectively represent a substantial investment in Maharashtra's infrastructure development. They aim to address urban mobility challenges while supporting economic growth through improved connectivity.
