PM Modi In Maharashtra Rally Reminds Voters Of Drought Eras Under Erstwhile Govts, Says 'MVA Wale Tarsayenge'

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday slammed the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) while addressing a sea of supporters. PM reminded people of Maharashtra the drought eras under erstwhile Governments and warned the voters that if they returned to power, water shortage challenges will occur again. He urged voters to support the BJP in the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024 slated for November 20.

During a public meeting in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar district, PM Modi stated, "Agadhi wale boond boond paani ke liye apko tarsayenge. Isliye mein mata aur beheno ko keheta hu, Agadhi wale ko ghusne bhi mat dena, warne aapko paani ke liye bhi tarsake rakehenge." This translates to urging mothers and sisters not to let the alliance gain power as they will make people beg for water.

Water Crisis Concerns

The Prime Minister accused the MVA of exacerbating Maharashtra's issues rather than solving them. He noted that Marathwada has long faced water shortages, but previous governments did little to address it. Under his leadership, efforts began to combat drought effectively.

Upon arriving at the event, PM Modi was welcomed by NDA leaders like Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Union Minister Ramdas Athawale. The assembly polls in Maharashtra are scheduled for November 20.

Balasaheb Thackeray's Legacy

PM Modi also pointed out that the MVA failed to honour Balasaheb Thackeray's wish to rename Aurangabad as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. He claimed that despite being in power for 2.5 years, they lacked the courage due to Congress pressure.

"The whole of Maharashtra knows that the demand to give this name to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar was raised by Balasaheb Thackeray," said PM Modi. He added that the Mahayuti government fulfilled this wish upon taking office.

The Prime Minister's remarks highlight his party's commitment to addressing Maharashtra's challenges while criticising past administrations for their inaction. With elections approaching, these statements aim to rally support for BJP by emphasising their achievements and contrasting them with MVA's perceived failures.
