Peter Mukerjea charged with murder, Indrani claims innocence

Mumbai, Nov 20: Indrani Mukerjea's husband Peter Mukerjea on Friday was charged with murder in the Sheena Bora murder case.

According to TV reports, CBI pressed murder and criminal conspiracy charges against NewsX co-founder Peter Mukerjea.

Peter was charged under Sections 120 B, 201, 203, 302, 307, 364 of IPC and 66 A of IT act. Proceedings began in the case with the CBI seeking police custody remand of Peter Mukerjea.

CBI alleged that he was in constant touch with Indrani Mukerjea on the day Sheena was murdered, April 24, 2012 and that Peter was aware that Sheena was dead.

Meanwhile, Indrani Mukerjea claimed that she was innocent and was being framed in Sheena Bora's murder case. The judicial custody of all the three accused, Indrani, Sanjeev Khanna and driver Shyam Rai has been extended till Dec 3.
