Pahalgam Terror Attack: Dombivli Protestors Ask People To Check Names Before UPI Payments— Know Why

Tensions have increased in Dombivli, Thane, following the brutal terror attack that took place on Tuesday in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The attack has caused deep anger among local residents, who have now launched protests and called for a complete bandh (shutdown) in Dombivli on Thursday.

According to a Times Now report, the protests, which are strongly anti-Pakistan in nature, began soon after the news of the attack broke. Many protestors gathered in the area to show their grief and demand justice for the victims. The protestors have also urged citizens to be cautious while making UPI payments, asking them to verify the recipient's name before completing any transaction.

Pahalgam Terror Attack

The announcement regarding the bandh and protest actions was made in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. He was in attendance during the ceremony where the last respects were paid to those killed in the attack.

Details Of The Attack

The terror attack occurred at around 3 pm on Tuesday in Pahalgam, a popular tourist destination in Jammu and Kashmir. Survivors of the attack have shared disturbing details. According to them, the terrorists stopped the tourists, asked their names and religion, and even demanded to see their Aadhaar identification cards.

As per the same report, state BJP president and Maharashtra minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule confirmed that six of the victims in the attack were from Maharashtra. He added that Chief Minister Fadnavis was personally taking updates on the situation. "The terrorists deliberately targeted Hindus after identifying them. This shows that the attackers wanted to divide people on religious lines," Bawankule said.

India's Response To The Attack

In a strong reaction to the attack, the Indian government has taken multiple diplomatic steps against Pakistan. On Wednesday, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri addressed the media and said all Pakistani nationals in India have been asked to leave the country within 48 hours.

He also announced that diplomatic ties with Pakistan would be downgraded. This includes the expulsion of military officials from the Pakistani Embassy. Additionally, he mentioned that the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) met on Wednesday evening to discuss further action.

One of the most significant decisions announced was the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960. The treaty, which governs the sharing of river waters between India and Pakistan, will remain suspended until Pakistan completely stops supporting terrorism across the border.

The situation remains tense, and further developments are expected in the coming days. Authorities have urged citizens to remain peaceful and united during this time.
