Navi Mumbai Traffic Police Update: PM Modi's Visit Sparks Traffic Changes; Check The New Diversions Here
In preparation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Kasarvadavali in Thane on 5 October, the Navi Mumbai police have enforced a complete ban on heavy vehicles entering Thane. This ban is in effect from midnight on Friday until midnight on Saturday. The decision aims to manage traffic effectively and ensure smooth travel for PM Modi's visit.
The timing of the ban is particularly important, as it coincides with the ongoing Navratri festival. This festive period is expected to lead to heavy traffic congestion on major roads, especially the Thane-Panvel route. To minimise disruptions during this time, the Navi Mumbai traffic police have provided alternative routes for heavy vehicles travelling from Navi Mumbai to Thane.
Vehicles heading towards Nashik will be diverted at the JNPT junction. They will proceed through Karjat, Murbad, Shahpur, Kasara, and Igatpuri. Those travelling to Gujarat will take a different route, diverting from the JNPT junction via Karjat, Murbad, Shahpur, Wada, and the Manor Toll Naka.
Furthermore, an alternate route has been established for vehicles departing from the JNPT junction. These vehicles will use the Pune Expressway to reach Chakan and then continue on the Ahmednagar-Nashik highway to complete their journey.
Authorities are urging all commuters to adhere to the newly designated routes. This will help avoid delays and ensure the smooth flow of traffic during this busy period, particularly in light of the PM's visit and the celebrations for Navratri.
