Mumbai Water Cut: BMC Announces 24-Hour Supply Disruption, Check Affected Areas
A major leak has been detected in a vital water pipeline at Amar Mahal Junction during ongoing Metro construction, prompting urgent repair work, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) announced on Friday.

To carry out the repairs, the 1200 mm pipeline will remain shut for 24 hours, leading to water supply disruptions in several parts of the eastern suburbs and the island city.
The BMC has advised residents to store enough water in advance and use it sparingly until the supply is fully restored.
Areas likely to face partial disruption include:
- F South Ward - Parel, Sewri
- F North Ward - Matunga, Sion, Dadar
- L Ward - Kurla
- M East Ward - Govandi, Mankhurd
- M West Ward - Chembur
According to BMC, the Mumbai water supply will be restored in a phased manner once the repair work is completed.
